Prepare Fielding Positions

Create the fielding plan for a game and assign players to positions inning by inning.

Before you begin

• Make sure game prep has already been initialized.
• Make sure player availability is up to date.

Steps

1. Open the game prep page.
2. Go to Fielding Assignments.
3. If the plan has not been created yet, enter the Number of innings.
4. Click Create fielding plan.
5. To fill positions automatically, click Generate assignments.
6. Review each inning card.
7. Update any position by choosing a player from the position list.
8. If needed, click Add inning to extend the plan.

If Bench Boss shows a fielding review message

1. Open Fielding Assignments.
2. Read the message at the top of the section.
3. If the section says Fielding assignments need review, click Update fielding assignments.
4. If the section says a player is no longer available, click Repair fielding assignments.
5. If the section says newly available players can be used, click Refresh fielding assignments.

Result

The fielding plan will be created and updated for the game.
